Role summary

Collaborating with Tooling Engineers on new tool designs to ensure that processing requirements are considered and incorporated
Providing input and practical guidance when reviewing Moldflow simulation results ahead of tool manufacture
Conducting injection moulding optimisation studies using scientific moulding techniques to drive robust process development, meeting defined cost and quality targets
Attending offsite tool trials (UK and overseas as required) with full accountability for setting and tracking of trial objectives
Responsibility for planning tool trials and leading all moulding process development activity in Rosti Automotive plants, up to NPI gate 5 approval (i.e. PPAP acceptance)
Creating and maintaining detailed process development documentation, to agreed company standards and formats
Ensuring successful integration of associated equipment including any new process related hardware and End of Arm Tooling
Running Design of Experiments, report writing and driving collaborative solutions based on accurate data
Providing expert injection moulding advice and support during all aspects of NPI to deliver repeatable processes with minimal scrap to plant production teams

Essential skills:

A minimum of 5+ years in a technical injection moulding environment
Experience of working with highly demanding and cosmetic automotive components
Strong proven experience in new injection mould tool development, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to self-manage and work well in a collaborative team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced/high pressure environment
Willingness to travel frequently as required within UK and overseas
Working knowledge of engineering polymers

Desirable skills:

RJG or equivalent professional moulding accreditation
Experience of scientific moulding and Design of Experiments
Experience of large machines and mould tools (up to 2700T / >30T tool weight)
Robot programming experience
Knowledge of measurement methods, quality tools and basic statistical concepts
